Herisphere - History & Origin
SQUARESQUARE
Herisphere was founded in 2023 by Jean-François ROBERT, drawing on 25 years of experience dedicated to advancing the circular economy.
While the efficient use of resources, recycling and reuse of materials are ancient human practices that were commonplace until the industrial revolutions, reintegrating these principles into modern economic systems remains complex.
Herisphere supports organisations in adapting their products, processes, services and organisational models to align with circular economy principles.
Career
SQUARESQUARE
Automotive Engineer, I spent all my career to protect the environment, especially developing circular economy.
After 10 years working for different waste management companies - Sita (Suez), Citec Environnement (ESE Group), Orsia (SARIA – Rethmann group) - I joined in 2009 Ecofolio, the French Producer Responsibility Organization dedicated to circular economy for papers. In 2016, I co-authored for the World Economic Forum a white paper on paper eco-design.
In 2017, Ecofolio merge with Eco-emballages to become Citeo.
During my 14 years within Citeo, I consolidated the paper expertise of the company, developed, negotiated and deployed modulated fee criterias applicable to paper, defined ecodesign criterias for paper&board packaging, piloted CEREC (Evaluation Committee for the Recyclability of Paper and Cardboard Packaging), defined and negotiated paper-cardboard material standards, managed R&D programs in terms of eco-design, sorting and recycling related to fibrous products, and also initiated and managed CITEO's missions in terms of health issues in the circular economy.
I have decided to continue my commitment by setting up Herisphere, a circular economy consultancy firm, in early 2023.
